Staff reports: Board approves zoning changes; sawmill CUP application received; three solar applications under review

County staff reported to the Charlotte County Planning Commission on May 23 that the Board of Supervisors had conducted a public hearing and approved the recommended zoning amendments.
Staff also said a conditional use permit application for a proposed sawmill had been received; staff will schedule a public hearing on that application for the Commission’s June meeting. In addition, staff reported pre-application meetings with potential applicants for four solar projects and that applications for three projects have been submitted and are under staff review for completeness. Staff provided status updates on previously approved solar projects but did not provide company names or project addresses in the May 23 remarks.
The updates were delivered as part of routine staff reporting near the end of the Commission’s meeting. After the staff report and other business, the Commission adjourned.
