He suggested the city could create a formal grant program for cultural and economic initiatives, similar to how the city itself applies for grants.
Councilor Brian Nielson moved to table the request for further work; Councilor Donald Childs seconded the motion and the council voted unanimously in favor. The council asked staff to draft options for a formal grant program and return the item for future consideration.
