County auditors Penny Kipp, Holly Falkosky and Rebecca Kendall presented the fiscal year‑end audit for the year ending Dec. 31, 2024 at the Fulton County Commissioners' meeting on Nov. 18, 2025. The auditors reported they filed the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) report and published a notice in the Fulton County News; the full audit report is available on the county website.
Commissioners and department heads met with Mike Lamb of Wessel & Co. and Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed for a final budget review. Following that review, commissioners gave verbal approval for the final draft of the 2026 budget to be presented at next week's meeting for adoption as the tentative budget.
Why this matters: the audit confirms the county took required reporting steps for the 2024 fiscal year and the board's approval to advertise the 2026 tentative budget begins the formal local process for setting next year's spending plan.
Other business related to county finance included approval of a Wessel & Co. invoice for CFO services and routine vendor payments recorded in the meeting's payables list.
Next steps: the tentative 2026 budget will be presented at the board's next meeting for consideration and adoption of the tentative budget.
