Fulton County approves HAVA-funded security upgrades for election offices
Summary

Fulton County commissioners on Dec. 9 voted to install a keycard/fob entry system for the Voter Registration office and to add cameras above the Commissioners' Office and Voter Registration office, funded by the county’s 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant.
Voter Registration/Election Director Linda Doyle presented a TelePlus quote and described planned security upgrades; the board approved the TelePlus work and the HAVA funding allocation after a motion by Commissioner Steven L. Wible. Rick Grissinger of Elect IT is slated to install the separate cameras and oversee the camera placement.
Separately, commissioners approved a TelePlus Protection System Extended Service Agreement (Silver Maintenance Coverage) for $14,040.56 covering Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2026. That motion was made by Commissioner Hervey P. Hann and carried unanimously.
Why it matters: the county is using federal HAVA election-security funds to add physical access control and additional exterior cameras at entry points for the election office, measures the board said are intended to bolster security around voter registration operations.
