Murray County Medical Center reports new orthopedic agreement, internships and stable cash position

Murray County Medical Center staff updated the Board on operations and finances at the June 3 meeting. Administrators said they are recruiting a new clinic manager and have arranged four summer internships across departments. The hospital has signed an agreement with Dr. Melissa Koenig to provide local orthopedic services; credentialing and scheduling are underway with a clinic start anticipated in late summer or early fall.
On finance, MCMC reported an overall cash position of $10,701,118 and a decrease in patient receivables of $368,854; net patient receivables were reported at $3,123,437 (51.5% of receivables). For the month, gross revenue was $2,849,850 (above budget by $38,751) and the facility recorded a monthly net loss of $10,164, with a YTD net income of $24,861. The hospital said EBIDA for the month was $42,844.
Administrators also noted progress on a facility master plan with priorities in imaging, therapy, surgery and outpatient services, community events including a foundation golf tournament and hospital week activities, and scholarship support for health-care students from local schools.
The update was provided as a routine informational item; no board action was required.
