The Buffalo County Board on Nov. 10 accepted the low bid of Vontz Paving Inc. for the county's 2026 Asphalt Overlay Project at a bid price of $920,312.49.
Highway Superintendent John Maul was present while the County Clerk read submitted bids for structure project 9C23 C10(1415) (structure no. C001011605) and other concrete-box projects; Maul will review those bids and return with recommendations at the Nov. 25 meeting. The Board also referred an Olsson engineering study recommendation for the 56th St. and Antelope Ave. intersection to the Road Committee for further review.
Separately, the Board authorized Chairperson Sherry Morrow to sign the Year-End Certification of County Highway Superintendent form required by the Nebraska Department of Transportation, adopting Resolution 2025-68. The resolution cites Nebraska Statutes sections 39-2302 and 39-2501 through 39-2505 as the statutory basis for the certification and for NDOT incentive-payment eligibility.
The accepted low-bid award is subject to usual contract finalization and any statutory certification requirements specified by NDOT and county procurement procedures.
