Buffalo County adopts One and Six Year Road and Bridge Plan, sets 2026 asphalt bid opening

Buffalo County adopted its 2025–2026 One and Six Year Road and Bridge Plan and scheduled a bid opening for the 2026 Asphalt Overlay Project.
Chairperson Sherry L. Morrow opened a public hearing at 9:51 a.m. for the road and bridge plan. Highway Superintendent John Maul reviewed the plan; no members of the public addressed the Board. Commissioner Bill Maendele moved to adopt the One and Six Year program as presented; Commissioner Ivan Klein seconded the motion and the Board approved the plan by roll call vote.
The Board also set Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. as the bid opening date for the 2026 Asphalt Overlay Project (motion by Commissioner Klein, seconded by Commissioner Lynch), and the motion passed with the same recorded voting pattern (six Aye, one absent). A copy of the adopted plan will be filed with the County Clerk’s Office.
