Buffalo County approves payroll and vendor claims, sets surplus auction and reappointments

The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners on June 24 approved routine administrative actions including ratification of payroll, acceptance of vendor claims for June and several personnel and scheduling items.
Commissioner Higgins moved and Commissioner Kouba seconded ratification of payroll processed June 13, 2025, and the board approved a detailed list of payroll deductions and net-pay totals. The board also approved June vendor claims—spanning the General Fund, Road Fund and other accounts—after the claims were read into the record and voted on by roll call (ayes 5, absent 2).
Commissioner Maendele read employee service recognitions for county staff with anniversaries from one to 39 years, naming individuals and departments. Facilities Director Steve Gaasch discussed the County surplus auction and the board set July 19, 2025 as the auction date with Bramer Auction & Realty.
Other routine actions included approving a tax refund for parcel 603052000 (Tami Davis) for $1,248.46, selecting Midwest Connect to print joint public hearing postcards, and reappointing Tom McCoy to the Veterans Service Committee for a five-year term ending June 30, 2030. Chairperson Morrow opened the Citizen’s Forum; no public comments were made.
The meeting adjourned at 9:21 a.m.; the board will reconvene July 8, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
