Deputy County Attorney Andrew W. Hoffmeister requested the board assign a primary contact for the Meyers-Carlisle Construction (MCL) Construction Manager role. The board appointed Commissioner Timothy Higgins as the primary contact following a motion by Commissioner Myron Kouba and a second by Commissioner Bill Maendele; the motion passed 5–0 with two members absent.
The board then approved the MCL Agreement for the New Law Enforcement Center (motion by Higgins, second by Kouba) and, after further discussion, approved a separate Northland Agreement for the project (motion by Maendele, second by Higgins). Both votes were recorded by roll call with all present commissioners voting aye.
County officials did not provide contract dollar amounts in the meeting minutes. The approvals move the county into the contractor engagement phase for the Law Enforcement Center; Commissioner Higgins will serve as the county’s official on-site contact for coordination with the Construction Manager.
