Union County commissioners voted on competing road-closure requests after reviewing three road-viewer reports.
On a motion by Commissioner W. Carr Vincent, seconded by Commissioner Lloyd 'Red' Miller, the board voted unanimously to deny the requested closure of the portion of Cedar Creek Road and to approve closing the portion of Snyder Road after the end of state land. The board clarified that a county road closure means the county will no longer maintain the closed section.
The decision followed presentation of road-viewer reports and discussion of maintenance responsibilities. The transcript records the motion and the board vote as "ALL AYE." The motion was described in open session and no subsequent appeal or follow-up action was recorded at the meeting.
The county will record the closure and remove the closed Snyder Road section from county maintenance schedules in accordance with county procedures.
