Lynndyl council weighs five-year water lease, road repairs and building-permit review

Mayor Chase Nielson told the council that a company called Magnum has proposed a five-year lease for town water but that any lease would need a provision allowing Lynndyl to reclaim water for town needs if necessary.
"Magnum would like to do a five-year lease for water. A provision would need to be put in place where Lynndyl could suck the water back to provide for the town if the situation arises," Mayor Nielson said during the Feb. 4 meeting.
Bob Lloyd reported that mosquito abatement had a good year in 2025. Mayor Nielson said he would call the Sunrise Engineering building inspector after the council received a letter about a resident's building project; Sunrise Engineering must make a formal decision on that permit, the mayor said.
Council member Miff Bishop raised concerns about road damage and old gravel that needs regrading; Mayor Nielson and Bishop said they would try to address the issue. Council member Spencer Proctor asked for a new city pavilion, and the council noted a cracked water fountain and broken sprinkler heads at the ballpark. Members also discussed town beautification, including putting up a "Welcome to Lynndyl" sign, and a concern about an accumulation of cars at the edge of town.
No formal motions or votes on the lease, permit or repairs were recorded in these minutes; the items were discussed as routine town-maintenance and administrative matters.
