Lynndyl council unanimously appoints Kay Stowell as town treasurer

Kay Stowell, the council's lone applicant for the town treasurer post, was unanimously appointed by the Lynndyl Town Council at its Feb. 4 meeting.
Mayor Chase Nielson and council members Matt Draper, Richard Pyne, Miff Bishop and Spencer Proctor voted "aye" to approve filling the treasurer position with Stowell, the meeting record shows. The council recorded that Stowell will take office and be sworn in at the March 4, 2026 council meeting.
The appointment followed routine approvals earlier in the meeting of the January minutes and financial statements; a question was raised by Council member Spencer Proctor about insurance-check deposits and a requested review of the Parks and Recreation budget.
The meeting adjourned after the council discussed routine town maintenance items. Mary Carpenter, Lynndyl town clerk, signed the official minutes.
