Marquette County DHS reports food bank demand, clinical waitlists and TSSF funding challenges

Financial unit staff Jennifer Vote told the board the food bank served 321 households (704 people) in February and added 13 new households; staff also said the department had received two new grants and was finalizing grant agreements and parameters for use.
Clinical Services Unit manager Dawn Woodard reported 19 people on the outpatient waitlist, six on the CCS waitlist and four residential placements. Woodard said, because of a vacancy, staff will not deliver the Prime for Life program at Westfield School and will instead meet prevention targets through alternative programming.
Jessie Cody, Children and Family Services, reported there are two children in out-of-home placement. Cody noted that to draw TSSF funds a family must have a safety plan and services available, which can be difficult to arrange quickly in some cases. Annett/Annette reported Economic Support statistics: 2,609 individuals enrolled in the health-care program, 13,183 call-center calls in February, and 794 open child-support cases; staff said federal standards are being met.
