Commissioner seeks neighborhood outreach on 90-day Duncan Avenue bike‑lane construction

Project representative Mr. Kataryniak said, "It's a 90-day construction duration contract and will most likely start in the spring," and added crews would work to one side of the street, push traffic to the north side, and perform work under alternating traffic or off-peak hours. He said there will be a pre-construction meeting and notifications to businesses along the street.
O'Dea asked specifically that the county notify the North Lincoln Park Association and hold a meeting where the contractor can meet neighbors and provide a contact for issues that arise during construction. Staff agreed to provide the project plan and to hold neighborhood outreach and a pre-construction meeting.
Next steps: Staff will provide the construction plan and notify neighborhood associations; a pre-construction meeting with the contractor and stakeholders will be scheduled prior to work commencing.
