Hudson County adopts bidder pre‑qualification rules for Brennan Courthouse HVAC replacement

The Board clerk said the courthouse is on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places and that “all work done on this project must conform to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties, revised in 1995.” The hearing drew no public speakers and the Board moved, closed the hearing and adopted the regulations by roll call.
County leaders said the pre‑qualification step is being used so construction bids will be solicited only from contractors who meet the county’s financial and technical criteria. The clerk read the legal notice that the hearing was held pursuant to N.J.S.A. 48-11-25, the statute cited in the public notice.
The Board did not discuss a construction timeline or award details at the meeting. Commissioners and county staff said further procurement steps, including the public bid and any subsequent contract award, will follow the pre‑qualification and bidding process and applicable state and county purchasing rules.
