Fulton County commissioners approve payables, personnel moves and board appointments

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners handled a slate of administrative and personnel actions at its Dec. 16 meeting, approving payables, appointments and several departmental requests.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve payables dated Dec. 16, 2025 totaling $281,921.91; the minutes record fund-level allocations including $214,588.09 to the General Fund and $46,105.21 to Opioid Settlement Funds. The motion passed "all in favor." Commissioner Steven L. Wible earlier moved to approve the Dec. 9, 2025 Commissioners' Meeting minutes and the Dec. 9 Retirement Board minutes; both motions passed without recorded opposition.
In personnel business, the commissioners met with Domestic Relations Director Tina Gress and approved a motion by Commissioner Hann to dismiss a Domestic Relations employee effective Dec. 8, 2025. Commissioners also approved advertising for an "Enforcement Officer 1" position to be posted both internally and externally.
On procurement and contracts, the board retroactively approved a Momentive Software, Inc. renewal for the Fiscal Department at an annual price of $1,660.48. The board also approved a Sheriff's Department request for physician services for an inmate at the Bedford County Correctional Facility.
The board approved appointments and reappointments: Thomas Peppernick was appointed to the Fulton County Industrial Development Authority Board of Directors for a four-year term through Dec. 31, 2027. Margie McGuire (Contractor), Paula Shives (Member-at-Large), Thomas Morton (Elected Official) and Daniel Schriever (Member-at-Large) were reappointed to the Fulton County Agricultural Land Preservation Board for two-year terms ending Dec. 31, 2027. Commissioner Randy H. Bunch moved to approve the 2026 Commissioners' meeting dates to be publicly advertised in the Fulton County newspaper.
Two executive sessions for personnel matters were held (9:36–9:38 a.m. and 10:52–11:30 a.m.), both entered and exited by unanimous motions. A DCED Financial Monitoring interview listed for 11:30 a.m. was canceled at DCED's request; DCED asked to meet instead with SEDA Cog and the Chief Clerk.
The meeting adjourned at 11:45 a.m.
