Fulton County Commissioners on Jan. 13 approved the county’s 2026 pay scale and a revision to the Human Resources Manual that establishes a monetary opt-out for eligible employees who waive county health insurance.
HR Administrator Mary Huston presented the proposed 2026 pay scale. Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve and execute the pay scale; the motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Hann also moved to update Section 212 of the HR Manual ("Employee Benefits") to add an opt-out payment. Under the approved language, any eligible employee waiving county health insurance will receive a pro-rated monetary payment, up to a maximum of $1,020 per calendar year ($85 per month). The waiting period is excluded when calculating the payment. Payment will be made with the final payroll in December or upon the employee’s resignation, and employees must leave in good standing to receive the payment. The minutes record the board’s approval without additional amendment or discussion.
