Murray County adopts amended 2026 fee schedule after brief public hearing

The Murray County Board of Commissioners approved amendments to the county's 2026 fee schedule on Jan. 20 after opening and quickly closing a public hearing with no public comment.
Board Chair Mark Carlson reviewed the changes the board said were corrections rather than new policy shifts, noting the horse stalling rates at the fairgrounds were updated to align with regional rates. Justin Hoffmann told commissioners the adjusted stall fees match local market levels. Commissioners also noted Sunrise Village rates had been approved in July 2025 but had been omitted from the most recent published schedule; the board restored those entries.
Commissioner Jackie Meier moved to approve the amended 2026 Murray County Fee Schedule, and Commissioner Roger Zins seconded. The motion passed.
The board opened the public hearing at 8:47 a.m. and closed it at 8:48 a.m.; no members of the public spoke during the hearing. The board recorded the change as effective Jan. 1, 2026. Routine fee-schedule housekeeping such as this is intended to ensure county revenues and program charges match prior approvals and current operating practices.
The board took the vote during regular business and did not attach additional conditions to the fee schedule amendments.
