The board recorded the motion to approve the appropriation (moved by Commissioner Roger Zins, seconded by Commissioner Loy Woelber) and the motion passed.
The council will administer the program and applicants will be denied participation if a business is unwilling to pay the participation fee. The board noted that some internships are hosted by Murray County and Murray County Medical Center and that prior interns have in some instances been hired into employment by sponsoring businesses.
