Separately, after discussion the board voted to deny a citizen request to install an engine braking sign north of Wood River on Highway 10. Commissioner Bill Maendele moved denial and Commissioner Higgins seconded; the board voted unanimously to decline the request.
The board did not attach additional conditions or approvals to the sign request and no alternative mitigation measures were recorded in the minutes. The equipment purchase and the signage decision were taken as part of the regular agenda before the board reconvened its regular session after Board of Equalization business.
