Buffalo County commits $101,796 local match for RYDE Transit federal grant application

The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners voted Feb. 11 to approve a local funding match of $101,796 so RYDE Transit (Community Action Partnership of Mid Nebraska) can apply for federal and state public transportation assistance.
Transportation Director Charles McGraw of the Community Action Partnership of Mid Nebraska presented the funding-match requirement and requested the county’s commitment. The Board adopted Resolution 2025-05, which refers to federal funds available under Section 5311 of the Federal Transit Act and the Nebraska Public Transportation Assistance Program and directs RYDE Transit to apply for FY 2025–2026 operating assistance.
The motion to approve the Local Funding Match was moved by Bill Maendele and seconded by Daniel Lynch. The roll call shows Aye votes from Maendele, Lynch, Timothy Higgins, Ivan Klein, Ronald Loeffelholz and Sherry Morrow, and an abstention from Myron Kouba; the motion carried.
The resolution specifies the Local Funding Amount Match for 2025–2026 as $101,796.00. No additional conditions or funding-source breakdowns were recorded in the minutes; further grant application materials and RYDE Transit’s application will determine outreach, service changes, or contract obligations.
