The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners recessed its regular meeting and convened as the Board of Equalization on Jan. 14, 2025 to consider motor-vehicle tax exemptions, tax-list corrections and a levy columniation change.
County Treasurer Brenda Rohrich presented motor-vehicle tax-exemption renewal applications. The Board approved a renewal for Christian Student Fellowship covering a 2018 Ford Transit 350 van and approved a multi-vehicle list for Good Samaritan Hospital; Commissioner Bill Maendele was recorded as abstaining on the Good Samaritan motion while the remaining commissioners voted "Aye." The board also approved vehicle exemptions for Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska covering multiple model years from 2009 through 2024.
County Assessor Roy Meusch presented Tax List Corrections numbered 5065 through 5071, which the Board approved. The Board also accepted a columniation change for Pleasanton Schools, moving the 'Special Building' fund to the 'Capital' column while noting that no levy amounts changed; the board adopted Resolution 2024-48B which records property tax rates and the columniation change for 2024–2025.
After completing equalization business the Board adjourned the Board of Equalization and returned to the regular meeting. The actions recorded adjust exemption statuses and correct levy column designations in county tax records and will be reflected in the county’s official tax documents.
