Buffalo County OKs purchase of three patrol vehicles and approves veterans treatment court interlocal agreement

Chief Deputy Sheriff Dan Schleusener presented the sheriff’s request to purchase three patrol vehicles. The Board authorized procurement of the vehicles by state contract on a motion by Myron Kouba, seconded by Ronald Loeffelholz; the motion passed with all commissioners voting Aye.
Separately, the Board approved an updated Interlocal Agreement with Hall County, Adams County and the Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation to continue Buffalo County’s participation in the Central Nebraska Veterans Treatment Court. The Board moved to approve the agreement and the motion carried unanimously.
The Road Department noted incoming gravel bids for April 1, 2026–March 31, 2027; Highway Superintendent John Maul and Assistant Highway Superintendent Blake Power will review submitted bids and return recommendations at the March 10 meeting. Facilities Director Stephen Gaasch provided a status update on county construction projects; no formal action was recorded on those updates at this meeting.
The Board scheduled follow-up on the gravel bid review for the March 10 meeting and adjourned at 9:50 A.M.
