The Buffalo County Board recessed its regular meeting at 9:38 A.M. on Jan. 13 to convene as the Board of Equalization. County Treasurer Brenda Rohrich presented motor-vehicle tax exemption renewal applications and the BOE approved renewals for multiple nonprofit and faith-based organizations, including Crane River Theater Company; First Lutheran Church; First United Methodist Church of Kearney; Goodwill Industries; Good Samaritan Hospital (abstention by Commissioner Bill Maendele recorded on that vote); Mount Carmel Home - Keens Memorial; The Salvation Army; Vetter Kearney LLC; and VSL Vetter Home Health Care. Each exemption renewal was moved, seconded and approved as recorded in the minutes.
The BOE also approved Tax List Corrections numbered 5127 through 5208 as submitted by County Assessor Roy Meusch; the motion to approve the corrections carried unanimously.
The Board of Equalization adjourned at 9:48 A.M. and the Board of Commissioners returned to the regular meeting agenda.
