Charlotte County Electoral Board reappoints registrar, sets election preparations and approves prayer at meetings

At its regular meeting on June 5, 2019 at the Registrar’s Office, the Charlotte County Electoral Board unanimously reappointed Nan Lambert to a four-year term as registrar and approved a motion to begin future board meetings with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
The board, which met at 10:00 a.m., also finalized preparations for the June 11 Republican primary. The board adopted a revised training schedule held at the Registrar’s Office: Board Training at 2:00 p.m., Precinct Chief Training at 4:30 p.m., and Officers of Election Training at 5:30 p.m. A key to the Saxe Precinct is now located at the Registrar’s Office for use during election preparation and on Election Day.
On personnel matters, Vice-Chair Lawrence Clark moved to reappoint Nan Lambert as Registrar of Voters for Charlotte County; Chair Glenwood D. Foster seconded the motion and the board voted unanimously to approve the reappointment.
To prepare polling places, the board directed that Chair Glenwood D. Foster and Vice-Chair Lawrence Clark meet at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10 to travel to each precinct and mark boundaries for candidate representatives. The board further agreed to visit each polling place prior to elections to confirm readiness. Those visits are scheduled after the board’s first meeting in June and on the Wednesday before the November election. The Chair was assigned responsibility for Saxe, Wylliesburg and Keysville; the Vice-Chair for Charlotte Court House and Drakes Branch; and the Secretary, Robert C. Bradner, for Phenix and Red House.
The minutes record that each board member received a blank copy of the “Annual General Registrar Performance Review,” which the board will discuss and complete at its July 3 meeting. The meeting was adjourned on a unanimous motion by Vice-Chair Clark, seconded by Chair Foster.
