The Charlotte County Electoral Board voted Sept. 4 to increase the Election Day stipend for Officers of Election by $25 per person per day.
Ms. Lambert reported on stipend levels paid by nearby localities and the board discussed whether the increase could be supported by the budget. After confirming it was fiscally supported, the board adopted the increase on a motion by Robert Bradner, seconded by Lawrence Clark; the motion carried without dissent.
Minutes note that Officers of Election typically work from 5:00 a.m. until votes are tallied on election night. The board did not specify the previous stipend amount in the minutes; the change will apply to Officers working the November election.
