Social Service Director Chris Kujava informed the board about operational items and reported the resignation of Lead Eligibility Worker Pam Hesse, effective March 4, 2026. The board accepted Hesse’s resignation, thanked her for her service and approved filling the lead position and the open Eligibility Worker vacancy (motion Bring, second Duckstad; carried 5-0). The Social Services office also presented case actions, vouchers and bills totaling $107,770.37, which the board approved.
In County Attorney office business, the board accepted the resignation of Legal Administrative Assistant Sydni Schroeder effective Feb. 13, 2026 and initially authorized filling that position with Paige Sweeney effective Feb. 9, 2026 at an annual salary of $34,440.17 (the minutes state this amount represents the remainder of the budgeted amount for the position). The board then accepted Sweeney’s resignation effective Feb. 12, 2026 and authorized advertising and replacement of the vacancy (motions Nybladh, Duckstad; carried 5-0).
The board also appointed Steve Gast to replace Emory Flaten on the Extension Committee (motion Nybladh, second Bring; carried 5-0).
