Hancock County Board approves moving invoice, personnel reclassification and $7,000 fund transfer

The Hancock County Board of Supervisors approved several administrative and personnel items during its Feb. 23 adjourned session.
The Board approved an invoice of $810.14 from O’Brien Moving and Storage for moving the Clerk of Court’s file cabinets. It also changed the classification of the First Deputy in the Sheriff’s Department from hourly to salary-exempt, effective retroactive to Feb. 22, 2026. The Board approved setting the Jail Administrator position in the Sheriff’s office to a 40-hour work week as directed by Sheriff Rob Gerdes. The Board authorized a transfer of $7,000 from the Medical Benefit Account to the Medical Benefit Fund.
All motions on these items were moved and seconded by the Supervisors and carried unanimously. The approvals were handled as part of the Board’s regular business in Garner; no written public objections were recorded in the meeting minutes.
