Local family‑support groups brief Brooke County commissioners; residents press officials on community cat overpopulation

Community members Carri Welsh and Tami VanCamp raised concerns about community cat overpopulation and requested county attention to the issue. Separately, a request to hire Sandra Collins for a part-time property compliance position (start date July 1; salary $16.50; pending background and drug test) was discussed and the clerk was directed to remove the item from the agenda.
The commission also approved an administrative request to reopen the estate of Wanda Beatty for IRS purposes at the request of Richard E. Beatty Jr.
