Poweshiek County holds FY27 budget workshop; Fair Board seeks $75,000 per year for new arena

Poweshiek County Recorder Lora Wyckoff, Conservation Director Tylor Nelson and Treasurer Jennifer Anderson each met with the board to discuss proposed revisions to the county’s FY27 budget. The minutes record that the officials reviewed their department needs and requested clarifications and adjustments to line items as the board prepares a final budget.
Members of the Poweshiek County Fair Board — Scott Sieck, Ryan Iverson and Paul Hawkins — met with the board to request county funding toward a new arena building. The Fair Board’s initial request was $75,000 per year for three years. Supervisors said they are still finalizing the FY27 budget and cannot yet confirm how much, if any, additional funding will be available to meet the Fair Board’s request.
