North Logan previews FY2027 budgets for parks, cemetery and recreation; hears water and civic center updates

City staff presented draft FY2027 budgets for the Parks, Cemetery and Recreation departments and provided updates on water capital projects and the Civic Center during the council work session on Feb. 18.
Parks: Ryan Campbell said employee benefit costs decreased because two employees opted for pay-in-lieu; the pavilion and restroom were completed.
Cemetery: Campbell said a cemetery shed project is planned in the coming fiscal year.
Recreation: Jesse Howell reported slight overall budget decreases, and said shifting credit card fees to customers would save about $20,000; the senior luncheon will move to the Library addition and summer programming will expand.
Water: Jordan Oldham said North Logan is ranked 13th on the DNR allocation list for a DNR grant and that construction on the Rattlesnake Tank had a third wall pour scheduled pending weather.
Civic Center: Alan Luce said the courtyard design is finalized, RAPZ grant application work is upcoming, Streets Department assisted with logistics, fundraising is ongoing, and staff expect the facility to be operational within weeks.
Council did not take final budget votes; staff presented information for council review and future consideration.
