Commissioners approve CPA engagement, senior center contract and a short office closure; treasury issues exact-change guidance
Summary
The BOCC approved continued CPA services and the Upper County Senior Center contract, authorized a Feb. 25–27 office closure, and heard a penny-shortage guidance from the treasurer advising departments to accept exact change only and to issue a public notice.
Zack DeHaven presented an engagement letter to continue services with the county's CPA and Auditor Bryan Elliott noted the auditor had recorded three timely audits with $0 in questioned costs. Commissioner Brett Wachsmith moved to approve the Budget and Finance Director's signature on the CPA contract; Chairman Cory Wright seconded and the BOCC approved the motion.
The board next reviewed the Upper County Senior Center contract with minor contractor-requested changes. Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve the contract; Chairman Wright seconded and the BOCC approved.
Treasurer Amy Cziske told county departments to accept only exact change for transactions due to a shortage of pennies and said she will issue a press release to communicate the policy to the public.
Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve a resolution authorizing the Board of Commissioners' closure Feb. 25–27; Chairman Wright seconded and the BOCC approved the resolution. These items were approved on the consent-style motions recorded in the study session; no dissent was recorded.
