Public works to study Road Foreman role; HR circulates Solid Waste Director job description

Public Works Director Josh Fredrickson told the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 10 that he is researching the feasibility of reactivating the Road Foreman position, a management-level role that would oversee day-to-day operations at the county’s Upper and Lower Shops. He said the move responds in part to a recent vacancy in the Engineering Technician III position and that he will return to the board with formal requests for any classification or staffing changes.
HR Director Jeanne Killgore presented a draft update of the Solid Waste Director job description and invited the commissioners to review the draft and provide feedback before any formal action is brought forward. No decisions were made at the meeting.
Later in the session the board entered executive session at 10:23 a.m. under RCW 42.30.110(1)(g) to evaluate the performance of a public employee for an anticipated five minutes. The board returned to open session at 10:28 a.m. and reported no action was taken.
The meeting began at 10:00 a.m. and adjourned at 10:28 a.m.
