Kittitas County commissioners approve change orders for new transfer station and delegate signatory authority to director

At the Jan. 13 meeting of the Kittitas County Solid Waste and Maintenance board, Commissioner Brett Wachsmith moved and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz seconded a motion to approve a letter to the Washington Department of Ecology delegating signatory authority on annual reports to the Solid Waste Director; the motion passed 3-0.
The board also discussed Change Order #11 (dated October 2025) and Change Order #12 for the county’s new transfer station. Commissioner Wachsmith moved that Commissioner Osiadacz sign as chair on Change Order #11; Commissioner Osiadacz seconded and the motion passed 3-0. Commissioner Wachsmith then moved to approve the chair’s signature on Change Order #12; Commissioner Osiadacz seconded and the motion passed 3-0.
Separately, the board considered Energy Management Plans for the courthouse and detention center, including Tier 2 building compliance, electrical systems surveying and energy tracking. Commissioner Wachsmith moved and Commissioner Osiadacz seconded approval to allow the director to sign the Energy Management Plans; the motion passed 3-0.
