Dickson County Commission adopts 2025–26 budget, sets property tax rate at $1.69 per $100

The Dickson County Commission on June 2 approved its budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025, set the county’s combined property tax rate at $1.69 per $100 of taxable property and approved appropriations to nonprofit organizations.
The commission adopted Resolution 06-2025-01 "A RESOLUTION MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE VARIOUS FUNDS, DEPARTMENTS, INSTITUTIONS, OFFICES AND AGENCIES OF DICKSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE FOR THE YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 2025 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2026." Commissioner Rusty Grove moved the measure and Commissioner Dwight McIllwain seconded; the measure passed by a unanimous aye voice vote.
Commissioners then approved Resolution 06-2025-02, which fixes the combined property tax levy at One Dollar Sixty-Nine Cents ($1.69) for each $100 of taxable property effective July 1, 2025. Commissioner Carl Buckner moved the tax-levy resolution; Commissioner Ray Ledger seconded. The motion passed by a unanimous aye voice vote.
The commission also approved Resolution 06-2025-03, "RESOLUTION MAKING APPROPRIATIONS TO NONPROFIT CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS OF DICKSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE FOR THE YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 2025 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2026." Commissioner Mike Petty moved the resolution; Commissioner Cindi Gray seconded. That measure passed by a unanimous aye voice vote.
County Clerk Luanne Greer recorded the roll call at the start of the session; 12 officials were listed as present. The special called session convened in the Buford L. (Booty) Reed Jr. County Commission Chamber at 4 Court Square in Charlotte, Tennessee, and adjourned at 6:55 p.m. The minutes were signed by County Clerk Luanne Greer and Chairman, County Mayor Bob Rial.
