Fulton County commissioners voted Feb. 10 to proceed with distributing Hotel/Motel Tax revenue in line with legal counsel’s recommendation after a review by the interim treasurer and county fiscal staff.
Interim County Treasurer Amy Bishop and Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed briefed the board on options for allocating the county's hotel-motel tax revenue. CFO Mike Lamb of Wessel & Co. joined the meeting by Zoom for the discussion. After hearing the presentations and legal guidance, Commissioner Randy H. Bunch moved that the county move forward with distribution according to legal advice; the motion passed with all commissioners recorded as in favor.
The move formalizes the commission’s direction to implement distribution consistent with legal recommendations. The transcript records the motion and approval but does not specify the allocation formula, any dollar amounts tied to this action, or the specific legal citation relied upon. County staff present included Bishop and Reed, who briefed the board, and will be responsible for following up on implementation steps consistent with the counsel’s recommendation.
The board did not record a roll-call vote tally beyond the minutes’ note of unanimous assent. No public comment that altered the board’s direction on this item was recorded in the minutes. The commissioners adjourned at 11:20 a.m.
