FREMONT COUNTY — The Fremont County Commissioners unanimously approved Resolution 2026-08 at their Feb. 17 meeting to transfer $208,000 from the county Cash Reserve to the Fremont County Fair for the Fair Annex, after officials said the amount had not been transferred at the start of the budget year.
County Clerk Julie Freese presented the budget hearing and the board voted (Michael Jones moved; Clarence Thomas seconded) to approve the FY2025-2026 Budget Amendment No. 3 to move the funds. The resolution passed unanimously.
In separate personnel business, Chair Larry Allen asked the board to rescind an earlier vote not to advertise for a Board of Equalization (BOE) Hearing Examiner. Jennifer Wilson moved and Ron Fabrizius seconded to rescind the prior vote, and the motion carried unanimously. The board then approved advertising for a BOE Hearing Examiner (Jennifer Wilson moved; Michael Jones seconded). The minutes record unanimous approval but do not specify application deadlines or position details.
Sheriff Ryan Lee and Administrative Assistant Amanda Glanz presented the sheriff’s 2025 end-of-year report; the minutes note the presentation without specific statistics. Library Director Anita Marple delivered a mid-year progress report for FY2025-2026; no actions were recorded on the library presentation.
The board adjourned at 11:45 a.m. and will reconvene March 3, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
