At the Feb. 3 meeting Lee Fox reviewed state guidance for the Planning and Zoning Committee and explained that survey results were used to draft the Town Plan, which is available on the town website.
Council members discussed grant opportunities: Council member Brian Smith said recreation grants open in March, and Council member Helen Clawson noted cemetery-related grants opened Feb. 1. Town staff (Kevin Washburn, Erika Anderson and Doug McMullin) distributed budget planning sheets for a June budget and said a preliminary budget is needed by May 1. Staff also reported that PTIF funds can now be transferred to MACU and that Xpress Bill Pay is available on the town website. Officials were reminded that annual municipal training is available online.
The items were presented as informational updates; no ordinances were introduced or adopted on planning or grants at this meeting. The council invited continued resident participation in committees and encouraged stakeholders to review the draft Town Plan on the town website.
