Registrar Ms. Lambert told the Board that social‑distancing requirements in effect until June 10, 2020 mean that training for election personnel must be conducted one precinct at a time, requiring two full days the week before the election; she said she will notify the Board of exact May dates. The office has installed a drop‑box outside the front door for document drop‑offs and the Registrar said she may work from home intermittently in the coming weeks.
During the meeting the Board reviewed the March 3, 2020 election and noted several issues: current nametags did not adhere properly (the Board said new nametags will be secured), restrooms at the Saxe location failed to work, and an official ordered a man using video to cease recording.
Vice‑Chair Lawrence Clark moved that the Board enter closed session "pursuant to Va. Code 2.1‑3711" for the purpose of discussing personnel; Secretary Robert Bradner seconded the motion and it carried. After reconvening, Secretary Bradner moved to return to regular session, and the Board adopted a certification resolution stating the closed meeting complied with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (Va. Code 2.1‑3712); a roll call recorded aye votes from Mr. Foster, Mr. Clark and Mr. Bradner.
On a motion by Secretary Bradner, seconded by Vice‑Chair Clark, the Board adjourned without dissent.
