The Wales Town Council appointed David Larson to a vacant council seat during its Feb. 3, 2026 meeting.
Council member Brandon Rees nominated David Larson after a brief question-and-answer session with three applicants. Byron Davies announced he was withdrawing his application and was thanked by the council. The nomination was put to a vote and passed with Mayor James Roberts and Council members Helen Clawson, Brandon Rees and Brian Smith voting in favor. Kevin Washburn, the town clerk, administered the oath and Larson took his seat.
The appointment followed routine procedural business. Earlier in the meeting, Council member Brian Smith moved to approve the minutes of the Jan. 6 meeting; that motion passed with the same affirmative votes. The council also reviewed and approved the list of January invoices after a motion from Council member Rees.
