Garrett County commissioners approve appointments, agenda and minutes in unanimous votes

The Garrett County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved several routine and administrative items during its Feb. 17, 2026, public meeting at the Garrett County Courthouse.
The board approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Commissioner Ryan S. Savage, seconded by Commissioner S. Larry Tichnell, with Chairman Paul C. Edwards making the vote unanimous. It also approved the public meeting minutes of Feb. 2, 2026, on a motion by Commissioner Tichnell, seconded by Commissioner Savage, again with a unanimous vote.
In administrative session, the Board appointed Bevian Hensley to the Garrett County Mental Health Advisory Committee to fill the unexpired term of the Area on Aging representative, through June 30, 2026. The Board reappointed Tony Doerr, Bruce Swift and Jeff Messenger to five-year terms on the Garrett County Planning Commission. Chairman Paul C. Edwards will send official appointment letters to appointees, the transcript notes.
During public comment, resident Steve Sisler offered a 250th semiquincentennial commemorative flag to fly at the Garrett County Courthouse; the Board accepted the flag and thanked him.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:18 p.m. on a motion by Commissioner Tichnell, seconded by Commissioner Savage, with a unanimous vote.
