Butler County orders audit and investigation of Senior Center after executive session
Summary

The Butler County Board of Supervisors entered executive session at 10:08 a.m. on March 2 to discuss Senior Center issues, inviting County Attorney Julie Reiter to participate. The board came out of executive session at 10:55 a.m. and took two follow-up actions.
First, the board unanimously voted to have the County Treasurer conduct an audit of the Senior Center. Second, the board voted to have Supervisor Brad Vandenberg and human resources conduct an investigation and bring recommendations back to the board for final approval; that motion passed with one abstention (Vandenberg).
County Attorney Julie Reiter and other county officials participated during the executive session and were involved in clarifying the scope of subsequent actions. The minutes record the votes and note the board's expectation that the investigation will result in recommendations for board consideration.
Next steps: the County Treasurer will conduct the audit and Supervisor Vandenberg and HR will undertake the investigation and report back to the board with recommendations for final action.
