Cedar County Board approves permits, appoints library trustee and updates EMS job description

The Cedar County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 24 approved a set of routine administrative items including utility permits, a capital equipment purchase, a personnel description update and a library board appointment.
The Board approved a Windstream utility permit for the City of Bennett (standard $100 fee applies) and granted Alliant Energy a permit for the Rochester Bridge project with the $100 fee waived; an Alliant permit for multiple roads (Quincy Ave, Red Star Rd, 230th St and 240th St) was also approved with the $100 fee applied. Supervisors accepted the low bid from P & K Midwest for a mower tractor at $150,333.92; staff noted the expense will be paid from the Secondary Roads fund.
EMS Director Dinsch presented updated job descriptions and credentialing changes, prepared with HR Attorney Galloway; the Board approved the changes unanimously. The Board also appointed Melissa Blank to the Tipton Library Board by unanimous vote and set public hearing dates on March 24 and March 31 for recodification of county ordinances.
These routine approvals clear several administrative items from the agenda and allow department staff to proceed with procurement, hiring and scheduling of public hearings.
