The Spencer County Fiscal Court on Aug. 5 awarded RBK Enterprises LLC a contract to repair the maintenance building roof for $17,170 and voided the earlier Smitha Construction contract after Smitha failed to follow up on its bid.
Esq. Jim Travis reported on the Buildings & Grounds committee discussion and presented the RBK estimate ($17,170) that included removal of existing roofing, installation of double-bubble radiant barrier, and new 29-gauge metal backed by a 40-year manufacturer warranty. The Court approved the award on motion.
The Court also approved the reappointment of Dean Ware to the Mt. Eden Fire Protection District Board of Trustees for a three-year term ending June 30, 2022; the Judge noted the reappointment was made following a recommendation from Duane McClain, board chairman.
Separately, the Court convened in executive session at 10:08 a.m. under KRS 61.815 and KRS 61.810(1)(f) for personnel discussions, reconvened at 10:47 a.m., and then approved an amended motion to place Brittany Veto as a full-time employee in the County Judge Executive’s office and EMS. The vote was recorded with four "aye" votes (Esq. Travis, Esq. Beaverson, Esq. Brewer and Judge Riley) and two "nay" votes (Esq. M. Moody and Esq. J. Moody). The minutes do not provide additional personnel details discussed in executive session.
