The Spencer County Fiscal Court on Aug. 5 approved two zoning changes recommended by the county planning commission.
On motions that carried with all members present voting "Aye," the Court approved a rezoning of a 0.7715-acre parcel at 5598 Mt. Washington Road from R-2 residential to B-1 commercial (applicants David Young and Billy Joe Smith). The Court also approved rezoning 8.158 acres at 3555 Hardesty Ridge Road from AG-1 agricultural to AG-2 agricultural for applicant Stan Bockting Jr., citing the planning commission’s findings.
Court materials also included public notices listing four petitions scheduled for second reading on Aug. 19: zone-change requests for properties on Yoder Tipton Road, Hardesty Ridge Road, Little Union Road and additional Little Union Road parcels. The Court noted four first readings earlier in the packet but took no action on them at the Aug. 5 meeting.
The zoning approvals were recorded in the meeting minutes as motions made and seconded and adopted unanimously. The minutes attribute the approvals to the planning commission’s recommendations but do not record substantive debate or conditions attached to either approval.
