Belgrade approves $299,999 contract to build Mayfair Meadows bike pump track

Belgrade’s City Council unanimously authorized the city manager to execute a not‑to‑exceed $299,999 contract with American Ramp Company to construct an asphalt bike pump track at Mayfair Meadows Park.

Jordan Green, project director, said the pump track is the most substantial element of the Mayfair Meadows master plan and that the parks board, county and other partners appropriated $400,000 in the FY26/27 budget to cover the base contract and related work. Green said in‑kind donations and partner contributions reduced the contractor quote from an earlier higher figure and that remaining park infrastructure (landscaping, restrooms and parking) will be paid by other grants and donations as available. He also reported the city has pre‑application approval for a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant that could support later phases.

Emily Decker of the Belgrade Community Coalition described the project as inclusive and adaptive—designed for toddlers, casual riders, competition riders and users with disabilities. Council and staff discussed parking planning (Green estimated parking for 50–80 vehicles), event/pavilion space in later phases, and a PBR wall-ride feature (banked curved wooden walls) that was removed from the initial contract but could be added if funding allows.

The contract was approved by voice vote; staff said construction discussions with the vendor target the late 2026 construction season while grant outcomes will determine the timing of later phases.
