Committee documents presented to the court list an estimated 7,045 properties countywide; at $22.08 annually the committee's calculation projects roughly $155,553.60 in annual revenue (7,045 × $22.08 = $155,553.60). Nathan Nation explained the committee's math and told the court the additional revenue could be used for equipment upgrades, including the possibility of funding in‑car radio repeaters for sheriff's vehicles (committee materials estimated $5,000–$6,000 per vehicle).
Sheriff Herndon and court members discussed existing funding and equipment needs. The court did not adopt an ordinance at the meeting and asked staff and the committee to provide additional information before any action, including clarification of the proposed fee's legal mechanism and a full revenue/spending plan.
