Resident urges court not to release Heritage Hills road bond; court approves separate rezoning request

Taylorsville, Ky. — During public comment at the Oct. 7 Spencer County Fiscal Court meeting, resident Matthew R. Holbrook objected to the planned release of a road bond for Heritage Hills subdivision, saying the work remained incomplete and cited photographs showing an unpaved section.
Holbrook said the road "was not finished" and told the court the blacktop currently stops short, leaving "approximately 150 feet of roadway that has not been finished with blacktop," which he said affected property values and school bus access. He asked that residents be notified before any bond release and offered to meet the court on site. The minutes record no action on the bond during the meeting.
Separately under zoning business, Julie Sweazy presented a planning commission recommendation and the court approved a rezoning request by Gregory Cucolo, changing two tracts on Hochstrasser Road from AG‑1 to AG‑2. The motion to approve the rezoning was made by Magistrate Jim Travis, seconded by Magistrate Brett Beaverson, and the court voted to approve the request based on the planning commission’s findings.
