Spencer County Fiscal Court entered executive session at 8:40 p.m. on Nov. 18 under KRS 61.815 and KRS 61.810(1)(f) and (c) and reconvened at 9:04 p.m. The minutes record three formal outcomes following the closed session.
The court authorized Judge John Riley to sign a contract pertaining to the county’s participation in opioid‑related litigation in Franklin County. The motion to authorize the contract was made by Magistrate Brewer, seconded by Magistrate M. Moody and recorded as approved by the members present.
The court also authorized Judge Riley and County Attorney Ken Jones to execute documents to repurchase a Military Humvee that had been sold in error from Brian Haaff in Lynchburg, Va., with a purchase price limit of $25,000. The minutes record one magistrate (Esq. J. Moody) voting "nay" on that repurchase authorization; the others voted "aye."
Finally, the court voted to terminate the employment of Joe Chesser from the Spencer County Road Department. The termination motion passed by recorded vote with members present voting "aye" (Esq. Beaverson was absent for some votes earlier in the meeting but the termination is recorded as ordered).
