Simpson County Fiscal Court approves budget transfers, coroner repairs and enters executive session

The fiscal court approved a cash transfer of $101,000 from the General Fund to the Jail Fund (motion by Thurman; second by Poston) and authorized a set of budget line-item transfers totaling $141,666.50 to move funds from 01-9200-999 (Reserve for Transfers) into multiple departmental accounts. The minutes list the transfers as: $1,500 to 01-7600-902 (XYZ/CDBG Payments to State); $8,432.00 to 01-5020-334 (Coroner Building Maintenance/Repair); $16,193.00 to 01-5120-703 (Fire Department — Communication Equipment); $4,873.00 to 01-5160-178 (DTF — HIDTA overtime); $4,000.00 to 01-5160-105 (DTF — administrative assistant); $14.00 to 01-5040-567 (Occupational Tax Refund); and a transfer to 01-5120-513 (Forest Fire Protection) with the minutes not specifying that last amount. The motion to approve the budget transfers is recorded as passing with a unanimous vote.

The motion to approve claims was recorded as Motion by Jeff Burr, second by Scott Poston, and passed 'Yes—All.' Near the end of the meeting the court voted to enter executive session under KRS 61.810(c) for discussion of proposed or pending litigation (motion by Poston; second by Burr).
